about the author

Cynthia Romaker Fullmer is a mother, a teacher, a wife, and a lifelong lover of reading.

When her son Jock was a little boy, she read to him constantly, nurturing in him also the joy of reading.  As a way of teaching values that she considered important, such as humility, kindness, loyalty, modesty, and being a good friend, she created this series of stories about a benevolent giant, John Henry, who is sought after by animals with problems to help them find solutions.  John Henry’s constant companion is a helpful sidekick and best friend to the kind and gentle giant.

Cynthia started her professional life as a French teacher after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has lived for over ten years in France, Venezuela, and Italy.  She is multilingual as a result of her education and worldwide travels.

After a career course correction from teaching French to many years as a direct marketing consultant, Cynthia returned to school to earn a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of San Diego.

In addition to writing and reading, Cynthia’s passions include playing pickleball competitively, knitting, and rowing on Mission Bay in San Diego, where she lives with her husband John.
